My name is Tony Ryan and I am a passionate backcountry snowmobiler and RMSHA racer that grew up in Lake City, MN. I always knew snowmobiling was the passion that I lived for, even before I had ever ridden one. Shortly after getting my 1972 Moto Ski in 6th grade I knew the mountains were where I wanted to ride. I have built my riding skills over the years starting on the trails of Minnesota, carving the lake-effect powder in the UP of Michigan, and the past 9 years "commuting" to the mountains. Twenty one years after getting my first sled, here I am; I finally made the move out West and now live in Roy, UT.
I am Avalanche Level 2 certified, and have a great passion for backcountry safety and awareness. I enjoy sharing my passions of sledding and backcountry/avalanche safety with fellow sledders whether it's on the mountain, at the gas station, a hotel, or at the snow shows. Over the last few years I have rode with hundreds of different people and love the diversity of it. In doing so I have rode in 12 different states and seen some of the most beautiful parts of the country.
I started RMSHA hillclimb racing this past spring after watching and being inspired by the World Championship in Jackson Hole, WY. My first race resulted in a 2nd and 5th place in Amateur, and my second race a 3rd place in Semi-Pro. I have set high goals for this season with high expectations in myself and my machine, which is why I have teamed up with MTNTK Performance.
